ELECTRICITY

In Indonesia, the standard electricity supply is 220 V AC at a frequency of 50 Hz, and the plug type used is usually C and F. Many hotels provide plug adapters and voltage converters for 110V and 220V appliances, but availability may be limited.

To prevent inconvenience or damage to electronic devices, it is recommended for travellers to check their voltage requirements and confirm with their hotel in advance. Using an incompatible voltage without a converter may result in malfunction or permanent damage.

LANGUAGE

Bahasa Indonesia is the official language of the country and uses the Latin alphabet as its writing system. Although no specific alphabet has been officially designated, the Latin script has been the standard since the Dutch colonial era. The language also includes additional letters such as 'c', 'q', 'v', 'x' and 'z', which are often found in loanwords. One of its distinctive features is its phonetic spelling, which simplifies pronunciation, accelerates the learning process and enhances clarity in communication.

WEATHER

Indonesia enjoys a tropical climate with two distinct seasons: the dry season and the rainy season. From June to September, the dry season brings a plentiful sunshine and a scant rainfall, which is ideal for outdoor activities. Meanwhile, from November to March, the rainy season brings heavier rains that refresh the landscapes and enrich the country's luscious greenery. Different from four-season countries, Indonesia's climate remains warm and consistent all year, offering a unique and welcoming atmosphere at each time of year.
